Baby Moonbeams, Sittingbourne
Moonbeams After School Club, Molash
Little Moonbeams, Faversham
Little Moonbeams in Faversham opened it's doors to the children for the first time in October 2008 caring for children aged from 3 months to 5 years. We later opened Baby Moonbeams in Sittingboune in 2009 and then the Moonbeams After School Club Molash/Challock in Ashford opened in 2012.
Moonbeams is owned by Vicky Martin along with her business partner, Hugh Martin (aka The Husband) Vicky handles the day to day running of the business whilst Hugh takes care of the maintenance and vehicles.
At Moonbeams we know what a huge decision parents and carers have to make when deciding which day nursery is best for you and your child. It is our aim to provide the very highest standard of care for your child within a welcoming and homely environment. We offer an all inclusive service, providing nappies and homemade baby
wipes within our daily fees for babies and toddlers.
Our Baby Room is where Sinead, Zoe, Allison and Katie care for little people aged between 3 months and 2 years.
Before your child joins us at Little Moonbeams, we spend time getting to know them through their free taster sessions, at this time we learn all about your child's likes and dislikes, routines and sleeping patterns, this is then how we care for them at nursery. Our aim to to make your child's day fun and stimulating whilst ensuring they feel safe and nurtured.
Our Babies learn as they play with natural, every day objects. They explore messy play, share books, sing songs and learn how to be confident, happy, small people! Our strong Key Person System ensures that our babies form secure relationships with the adults that care for them. They are nurtured in our warm, homely environment as they are cared for by people who are passionate about childcare!
Within our Toddler Room Alice, Robyn, Kerrie, Jemma and Leah make sure our Toddlers get every opportunity to explore and learn as children should at 2 years of age! They enjoy lots of messy play, craft activities and spend lots of time in the garden. The staff help the child learn to develop their fine motor skills with puzzles, chunky crayons and pencils, they learn their colours as they paint and learn to feed themselves as they sit together for meals in a family type environment. Our Toddlers go for frequent trips to the local park and duck pond and they love to see their older friends from Pre-School in the garden each day.
Our Toddlers favourite area of the room is where their fantastic handmade kitchen is located. Here they enjoy playing with the wide variety of 'Loose Parts' that we offer. Our loose parts include shiny gems, corks, pine cones, metal bowls and lots of other amazing treasures! We find that these exciting objects allow for more open ended play in comparison to traditional plastic toys. We have also seen a significant improvement in the children's language development since we adopted this approach. We threw the plastic toys out two years and we haven't looked back since!
Our Pre-School room is the biggest and busiest room in the nursery. Here we care for children aged 3 and 4 years until they leave us to start 'Big School'. Jordan, Beverley, Emma, Danielle and Romy work hard to provide a fun and stimulating environment for the children to learn and play within.
At Little Moonbeams we place huge importance on helping the children develop life skills that will make the transition to starting school as easy and natural as possible. We know how important is it to learn our numbers and colours but we also believe it is important to learn how to put our own shoes on, to cut our food and and to go to the the toilet independently. These little things help our children to develop self confidence and high levels of self esteem.
Just like the Toddlers, the Pre-School children also have a bespoke handmade wooden kitchen to play with, which is hugely popular, however, their firm favourite is the Trog Tree Houses and little peg people.
